Mars Aspen (they/them) is a twenty-two year old Indigenous and queer singer/songwriter. Their current sound and inspirations pull from indie rock, alt pop, and folk music in a way that blurs the genres together. Their latest single “overgrown” was released in the summer and is now available on all streaming services.
Ahead of their performance opening for Siaka Diabaté and Raphael Weinroth-Browne this Saturday, January 13, Mars has curated a playlist of songs that inspired them in 2023, as well as some songs that they’ve loved for a long time. “No genres specifically,” says Mars. “Just pure vibes!”
