It’s amazing how many beautiful moments one year can contain. 2025 was a hyperactive and deeply impactful year for Debaser. We hosted 18 events plus 4 editions of Pique across 16 venues, supported 160 artists with the help of 150 amazing volunteers and 30 community partners, and connected with more than 8,000 audience members.
Last year, we welcomed artists and speakers from Indonesia, Tanzania, Niger, India, Japan, Korea, Greece, France, Belgium, Netherlands, and USA.
We worked with global innovators, legends, community stalwarts, and emerging creators.
Our programming explored diverse genres, topics and techniques including sonic ecology, radio art, singeli, ghettotech, labour organizing, community care, throat-singing, hyperpop, ballroom, hocketing, Indian classical, Latin experimental, live animation, and queer comedy.
We threw events at a pool, a 150-year old church, and a former courthouse, including some of our largest concerts to date.
We subsidized more than 1,400 tickets to our events, and continued to experiment with organizational models for accessibility, sustainability, and care.
