About the Artists

Eejungmi (이정미), the electronic project of Toronto-based artist and DJ Katie Lee, creates music that invites you in with a gentle familiarity. While approachable, her music gradually reveals a surprising depth, pulling listeners into a heavier, more complex emotional space. Anchored in left-field techno, house, and downtempo, she crafts sonic landscapes that coax hidden emotions to the surface.

Whether behind the decks or performing live, Eejungmi explores the delicate balance of tension and release, guiding the room through a journey that drifts between quiet heartache and profound catharsis. This cycle of loss and rebuilding is the foundation of her newly released debut album, Water is a Shifting Mirror. Constructed from field recordings of rivers, the record uses the flow of water to map the unpredictable stages of grief, with her own ethereal voice serving as a steady guide through the current.
